His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President , Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, introduced the Patrons of the Arts Award in March 2009. A groundbreaking initiative spanning the entire region that sets out to honour individuals and organisations who have contributed towards the growth of the cultural scene in Dubai.
Farhad Farjam has been the recipient of the highest honor of the prestigious Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Patrons of the Arts Award for the past four consecutive years. Recognised for the fourth time this year since the Award’s inception in 2009, Farhad Farjam was awarded again in the top category.
The Awards, presented by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai pay tribute to the various disciplines of the arts, including visual and performing arts, film and literature.
Speaking at the ceremony on behalf of all the recipients, Dr Farjam said “I would like to express our deepest gratitude for The Patrons of the Arts Awards. In Dubai, we are blessed with a leader who himself has been an inspiring patron in developing this emirate into an exemplary metropolis. Today represents yet another step forward in Dubai’s advancement, this time as a world-class cultural capital.”
